Smiley happy babies.

The girls spend quite a lot of time smiling and laughing now. Of course, capturing both of them smiling at the same time seems an impossible task. Here is Ellie cooing while Molly smiles at her dad.

The girls go see Santa!

We took some elfkins to meet Santa. Luckily Santa had room for all three girls on his lap!

Weight update

Both girls continue to grow and get stronger. Ellie now weighs 10 lb. 10.5 oz. and Molly weighs 7 lb. 13.5 oz. They have each more than doubled their birth weight in their first three months of life!!

2 month check-up

We took the girls in for their two month wellness visit with their pediatrician yesterday. It is hard to believe they are two months old! They had each gained a little weight since their last weigh in. Ellie weighs 8 lb. 1 oz. and Molly is up to 5 lb. 13.5 oz. They got three shots each as well. Poor babies.

Both girls are battling their first colds. They are congested, sneezing, and coughing. It is so pitiful to see such tiny babes struggling, but they are both troopers. They are still smiling and interacting well with us. Logan volunteered that she thinks she got the babies sick. We tend to agree.

I am hoping to get some more pictures uploaded in my "down time." The kids are so cute it is hard to decide which pictures to post. I love having dilemmas like that!

Gold star for dad

So we got this cute little outfit from my Aunt Suzanne (thanks Suzy!!) that has "daddy loves me" printed on the front. Of course, we had to get pictures of Dave holding Ellie the first time she wore the outfit. What happened next? Ellie started screaming. Then Dave started laughing. I got to capture the moment and it is now one of my favorite pictures.

Benefits of small babies

We don't need a bassinet because a laundry basket works.

We only need one bouncy chair.

We do still need three boppy pillows though!

Halloween pictures

I can't apologize enough for being so slow to update this blog. Our lives are truly chaotic right now. These are a few pics of the girls in costume. We'll have to get some of the twins in their pea pods side by side.

Snow pictures

Snow days

We are snowed in for the second day in a row. Logan doesn't seem to mind the extra days at home, but she did express some concern this morning that she wasn't going to learn everything about the Mayans since she was missing school. I love her preschool.

Playing in the snow has been such a blast. We made a fort under a pine tree that was so covered in snow all the branches were bent down towards the ground. It created a teepee of sorts. Logan has made snow angels for the whole family. We have thrown snow balls at the dogs - they like it. We also shoveled, but only a little bit. We are trying to keep the snow work to a minimum. It looks like there will be plenty of broken branches to clean up after the snow melts. Our neighbor, Snug, measured the snow at 18 inches last night and it is still coming down. Gotta love Colorado.

We will post some pictures later today.

Funny but gross video

Dave decided to get a digital camcorder shortly after the twins were born. This was the first video he shot with his new camera. He just happened to capture the first time Ellie pooped on her mom! Watch only if you have a good sense of humor. ;o)

Logan with her sisters

Logan has really grown into the role of big sister. She can even hold her sisters with little assistance. The top photo is Logan holding Ellie and the bottom one is her holding Molly. Both photos were taken on the 19th of October.

Home at last

Wow. We have been home with the girls for over a week now. What a transition for all of us. All in all, I think that we have adjusted pretty well. Now if we can only figure out how to get enough sleep...

Molly and Ellie were seen by their pediatrician last week and they have continued to thrive after the discharge from the hospital. They are doing so well that they do not need to be seen again until the "normal" two-month check up. It seems so odd to go from round the clock care for several weeks to a normal check-up schedule.

Logan has continued to grow into the role of big sister. She is so wonderful! She holds her sisters at every opportunity to do so. Logan has also discovered that she has baby dolls that have clothes that are bigger than what her sisters wear. She thinks that is pretty neat. Our plan has been to donate all the preemie clothes to the NICU when the girls outgrow them, but maybe we will keep an outfit or two for Logan to use with her dolls. ;o)

Our big goal for today is to get the girls out for a walk in this wonderful fall weather we are having. This will be their first outdoor adventure. Wish us luck!
